Description
Since the first edition of Noxious Weeds of Australia, numerous changes have taken place throughout Australia to the legal requirements for the control of proclaimed weeds and the manner in which they are classified. In this second edition, the authors have completely updated this information for each State and Territory. (The additions and deletions of proclaimed weeds in each State and Territory since 1992 are listed in a separate addendum.) The list of herbicides and their properties has also been revised.

Retained from the first edition, for each of over 200 species, there is information on where it is proclaimed and what the legal requirements are for its control. Maps show where each weed species occurs in Australia. Colour photographs and line drawings, supplemented by detailed descriptions of each plant, make identification straightforward, and simple keys are presented that enable positive separation of closely related species.

Noxious Weeds of Australia remains the only completely comprehensive reference on proclaimed weeds throughout Australia. The environmental and legal consequences of failing to control these weeds makes this an essential text for landholders, landcare and community groups, environmental consultants, botanists and every municipal, city, shire and country council authority.
