This report is directed at the following guidelines: - Identify the species concerned, their basic biology and ecology and the importance of each species (or related group of species) to particular agricultural/horticultural/pastoral industries in Australia
- List control measures/management practices presently employed
- Identify pest problems where organochlorines are still used or where no satisfactory control exists due to legislative action to remove organochlorines
- Summarise recent and planned research seeking alternative control methods and the progress made or likely in the short-term in providing practical alternatives.
The report also reviews the distribution, identification, importance, basic biology and present control of and recent research on each soil-insect pest.
