Description
Mycorrhizas are highly evolved mutualistic associations between soil fungi and plant roots. The partners in the association are members of the fungus kingdom and most vascular plants. This manual explains procedures used by scientists who work with mycorrhizal fungi and roots in the laboratory, nursery, or natural and managed ecosystems. Forest nursery and plantation managers, horticulturists, agronomists, students and researchers will find the manual useful with many of the techniques used requiring readily obtainable and relatively inexpensive equipment and chemicals.

"This is the most spectacular technique book in biology that I have seen. Accordingly, it deserves a place in botanical libraries." Rudolf Schmid, UC Taxon 46, May 1997
